Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Home to Mountain Gorillas

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a dense block of rainforest in south-western Uganda and one of the most biologically diverse areas in Africa. It holds a significant portion of the world's remaining mountain gorillas, and trekking to a habituated family is why most people come. Beyond the gorillas, Bwindi has 120 mammal species, 350 bird species including 23 Albertine Rift endemics, and over 1,000 flowering plant species.
