The paperwork, before you fly

Uganda’s visas are issued through the government’s own portal, applied for in advance, with the approval arriving by email. We are not an immigration agent and the decision always rests with the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control; what we do is make sure you apply for the right visa, with nothing missing, and that you land with the documents that get checked at the desk.

  • Uganda e-Visa Guidance

    The standard tourist route

Most visitors apply for a Uganda tourist visa online before travelling. We tell you which category to choose, what each upload needs to show, and review your details before you submit. The common causes of a rejected or delayed application are a wrong category and a document that does not match the passport.

    • A checklist of exactly what to prepare and upload
    • A look over your application before you submit it
    • Your itinerary and accommodation confirmation, if the form asks for it
    • What to have printed and to hand when you land

  • East African Tourist Visa

One visa for Uganda, Kenya & Rwanda

The EATV is a joint multiple-entry visa valid across Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda for 90 days. It is applied for through the country you enter first, which matters if your itinerary starts in Nairobi or Kigali rather than Entebbe. We work out which applies to your route and point you at the right portal.

    • Whether the EATV or a single-country visa suits your route
    • Which country you apply through, based on where you land first
    • How re-entry works when your itinerary crosses back and forth
    • What each border post asks to see

  • Supporting Documents

The confirmations an application asks for

Visa applications frequently ask for proof of where you are staying and what you are doing. For travellers booked with us, we issue an itinerary and accommodation confirmation on company letterhead, with our UTB licence number on it, ready to attach to your application.

    • Itinerary confirmation on company letterhead
    • Accommodation confirmation for your booked nights
    • Our licence and registration details on the document
    • Reissued quickly if your dates change

Best forApplications that ask for proof of itinerary or accommodation

  • Entry Requirements Briefing

What is actually checked on arrival

A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required to enter Uganda and is checked on arrival. Beyond that there are passport validity and blank-page requirements, and extra formalities if your trip crosses into Kenya, Tanzania or Rwanda by road. We set all of it out in one place so nothing surprises you at the desk.

    • Yellow fever certificate: what is accepted and when it is checked
    • Passport validity and blank-page requirements
    • Road border formalities for cross-border itineraries
    • What to carry with you rather than in your luggage

Best forFirst-time visitors and overland cross-border itineraries

How it works

  1. Tell us your route and passport

Which countries you are visiting and the passport you travel on. That alone decides whether you need a Uganda visa, the EATV, or nothing at all; some nationalities are exempt.

  2. We send the checklist

A short list of what to prepare, the link to the correct official portal, and any confirmation letters you need from us.

  3. You apply, we check

You apply and pay on the government portal directly. Send us the approval when it arrives and we will check it against your itinerary before you fly.

Applying safely

Uganda’s visas are issued only through the government portal. Plenty of look-alike sites rank well in search and charge a markup for the same application.

  • The official portal is visas.immigration.go.ug; check the address before entering anything
  • Visa fees are paid on that portal, to the government. We never collect them
  • Current fees, processing times and exemptions are published there; always read them at the source
  • Your approval arrives by email; carry a printed copy with your passport

Not sure which visa your route needs? Ask us on WhatsApp. Tell us where you are flying into and we will point you at the right one.

Tell us where you are travelling

Send us your route and the passport you travel on, and we will come back within 24 hours with the visa that fits and the documents to prepare. Travelling on one of our trips? The confirmation letters come with it.
