Tree-Climbing Lions & Big Game

Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda's most visited savannah reserve. Across its 1,978 square kilometres it holds 95 mammal species and over 600 bird species. It is known for the tree-climbing lions of the Ishasha sector and for the Kazinga Channel boat cruise, which runs past some of the highest hippo densities in Africa with elephants coming down to drink. Habitats range from open grassland to tropical forest and wetland, which is what accounts for the species count.
