Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Golden Monkeys & Volcanoes

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park sits high in the clouds, at an altitude of between 2,227m and 4,127m. The park protects the Ugandan slopes of the three northernmost Virunga Volcanoes: Mt. Muhavura (4,127m), Mt. Gahinga (3,474m), and Mt. Sabyinyo (3,645m). This smallest of Uganda's national parks offers mountain gorilla tracking, rare golden monkey encounters, and challenging volcano climbs. The park is part of the larger Virunga Conservation Area spanning Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo.
