Kidepo Valley National Park
Uganda's Most Remote Park
Kidepo Valley National Park sits in Uganda's far north-east, a valley of rugged savannah backed by mountain ranges on almost every side. It is the country's most isolated park, and the isolation is much of the appeal: there is no through road and very little traffic. Kidepo holds several species found nowhere else in Uganda, and the surrounding Karamoja region is home to the Karamojong, one of the country's most traditional pastoralist cultures.
